Consistency - Is It Necessary?

Consistency and being consistent is something I struggle with. I'm just going to put it out there and admit it. I get it, it's what I'm creating, it's what I've "chosen" to experience, although I would like to believe it's mostly an unconscious choice to be inconsistent. As you can see, we haven't posted anything since October. Life gets in the way; full time jobs, hockey practice, out of town hockey tournaments, dishes, laundry, dog and cat poop duty, friends, family, money, on and on and on the excuses go. Really, it's not necessary to ask why this has happened, why can't I stay focused on my passion, why can't I work on it consistently? The only thing asking the questions of why does is give your ego fuel to make you feel bad. Then the spiraling downward happens...

Instead, I choose to see this as an opportunity. I always have the desire, the little flame burning inside of me, of making this website and other projects, all work out. I know we have something great - no, outstanding - here and we're going to be ultra successful in helping so many people including you, with learning to consciously create our lives.

“In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.” - Anthony Robbins

So, to the question of is it necessary to be consistent in whatever your goals are in life? (And I'm not talking about only goals; I'm talking about dreams, passions, things you want to do that you like, and love, but excuses keep holding you back....)

Yes, it is necessary to be consistent. And- that's a big and - be consistent in your own way! What does it look like for you? Depending on what your goals and passions are, it can be a few minutes daily, maybe once a week, or even one day a month. Find what works for you and do it. Stay focused on what makes you feel good and do your best to let go of all that doesn't, including ignoring all the naysayers. The key is to just do it.

This is your life. Stuff is gonna happen - trust me, I get it. Keep that passion burning alive inside you and someday it will become real life. Everything happens at the exact right moment it's supposed to.

"The level to which you are consistent in pursuing your passion, is the level to which your passion becomes reality." - Create Beyond LOA

As for me, everyday I'm making the choice to do what I'm most passionate about, even if it's just for a few minutes I spend thinking about it. My goal right now is to take advantage of the free weekends I have, and not stress about needing to accomplish something during the week.
