YOUR EMOTIONAL GUIDANCE SYSTEM
We first heard about the Emotional Guidance System in the movie "The Secret". It presented a scale of good emotions and bad emotions, this one is above that, that one is below this. It slightly over complicated the process. It presents the problem of "which emotion am I at? Am I feeling Gratitude or is it Joy? Maybe it's Passion..." and it can distract us from the overall purpose of the Emotional Guidance System.
Then we found the teachings of Bentinho Massaro (www.bentinhomassaro.com) and his explanation resonates with us more than anything else. He simplified the whole scale so you are able to focus on what you are choosing instead of playing "Guess That Emotion." He explains it this way; You either feel good, or you feel bad. You either feel good and are In Alignment, or you feel bad and are Out of Alignment. (Alignment with what? Alignment with what you are choosing.) When you feel good, your vibration is in alignment with people, places and events that you would feel good about experiencing, and therefore creating more experiences to feel good about. When you feel bad, you are out of alignment with the experiences that you would feel good about experiencing. So being out of alignment is still being in alignment, it's just in alignment with things that you feel bad experiencing. But, since you don't need our help to feel bad, we'll assume going forward you are choosing to create good, positive experiences. We will continue to use "in alignment" and "out of alignment" with your conscious choosing. Out of alignment meaning still creating, but creating with your autopilot.
Creating consciously sounds like so much work! Are you saying I have to pay attention to EVERY SINGLE thought? Not all at once. We are saying to do it as often as it feels good to start with. The more you choose what feels good, to move toward feeling good, the more you re-program your autopilot. Over time you will develop new thoughts, habits, beliefs, etc. That is when your autopilot begins working with you, toward what you are choosing.
Once we learned this simplified Emotional Guidance System, our world opened up and so many things became clear and fell into place. There's no need to analyze which emotion you're at and how to move to the next one, you either feel good or you don't. Let go of the stress and worry of "Am I doing it right?", "Am I feeling the right emotion to attract what I want?"
